2021

Riccardo and Francesca Aloia incorporate Aloia Commodities S.R.L. in July 2021 and transfer into it the business relationships developed during more than 50 years of activity as Agents.

Beginning of XX Century

The business in the international trade of the Aloia Family start around the beginning of the Years ˈ20 of the XX Century with Pasquale Aloia and his sons, Vincenzo and Antonio, that, throughout the years, develop the import of foodstuffs from different countries.
In particular :
– Corn from North America;
– Stockfish from Norway and Iceland;
– Dried Salted Cod from France and Norway.

Pasquale Aloia

Pasquale Aloia was born in Salerno in October 1855, during the Reign of Ferdinando II, King of the Two Sicilies, whose capital was Napoli.
Entered in the Amalfi maritime and trading business traditions, Pasquale Aloia married in Atrani, a town of the Amalfi Coast, in 1882. He was Captain of Vessel and, thereinafter, became the manager of the branch in Gioia Tauro, a town of the Calabria region, of the Gargano Company, a major trading firm of Amalfi.
Around the year 1920, Pasquale Aloia and his sons, Vincenzo and Antonio, started their own activity in the trading of foodstuffs.
The first official document that mentions the activity of the Company Vincenzo & Antonio Aloia is of the 18th of May 1930. Documents of the previous history are under research.

Antonio Aloia

Antonio Aloia was born in Atrani, on the 2nd of February 1894.
He incorporated the Company Vincenzo & Antonio Aloia, with his elder brother Vincenzo.

Thanks to his commercial attitudes, Antonio Aloia developed the international trade of foodstuffs with North America and North Europe.
In the postwar, he continued the activity with his sons, Pasquale and Domenico.

Pasquale Aloia Jr.

Born in Napoli, on the 31st of August 1924, Pasquale Aloia Jr. continued the activity of the father Antonio, in the town of Gioia Tauro, specializing in the import of preserved fish from North Atlantic, among the trade of various other foodstuffs.

Domenico Aloia

Domenico Aloia was born in Napoli, on the 21st of February 1926. He moved his activity to the harbour of Napoli and specialized himself in the import of preserved fish from Norway, Iceland, Faroe Islands, South Africa etc…
At the beginning of the years ˈ70, he started the activity of Sales Agent. This activity has been developed by the son Riccardo, that started working with his father in August 1973.
